Chow Mein Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil or vegetable oil
- 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1 yellow onion small-medium sized
- 2 carrots cut into matchsticks
- 4 cups napa cabbage or green cabbage cut into slices
- 12 ounces chow mein noodles
- 3 green onions cut into 2-inch pieces
- 2 cups bean sprouts
Sauce Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce combine dark soy sauce and light soy sauce if on hand
- 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 3 tablespoons Chinese cooking wine (shaoxing wine)
- 1 ½ tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- black pepper
In a small bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients until they are combined.
Next, marinate the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of the sauce and set them aside. Then prepare the vegetables for the stir fry.
Preheat some avocado oil or vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Then sauté the garlic, onion, and shrimp for 2-3 minutes.
Add the carrots and cabbage to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
In the meantime, cook the noodles in boiling water according to package instructions.
Now add the cooked noodles, sauce, green onions, and bean sprouts to the pan. Toss until everything is combined and covered in sauce. Serve and enjoy!
