First, preheat some olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Then add the onion, garlic, and chile pepper. Sauté until the onion turns translucent.

Next, add the sweet potato and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Then add the tomato paste and all seasonings. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.
2 cups sweet potato cubes, 2 tablespoons tomato paste, salt and pepper, 2 tableespoons chili powder, ½ tablespoon paprika powder, ½ teaspoon ground cumin, ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper, ½ teaspoon curry powder (optional)
Now add the black beans, bell pepper, and liquids. Cover the pot and let everything simmer for 15-20 minutes until the sweet potato cubes are tender.
