    Dill Pickle Egg Salad Ingredients

You'll need the following ingredients to make this dill pickle egg salad:

    • Eggs: You can use any type of egg for this recipe. Just make sure that they are medium-sized or large.
    • Dill: Fresh dill is one of the key ingredients to make this egg salad taste flavorful and delicious! I highly recommend using fresh dill as it tastes so much more delicious.
    • Pickles: Pickles are another important ingredient in this recipe. There are different types of pickles and they all work well in this recipe. I like to use sweet pickles packed in vinegar. Just pick your favorite pickles and use them for this recipe!
    • Red onion: Red onion is another must when making an egg salad! As it tastes less harsh than yellow onions, I'd recommend sticking to red onions for this recipe.
    • Yogurt: The dressing for the egg salad uses both mayo and yogurt to keep things light without sacrificing flavor or creaminess. Just use plain yogurt for this recipe.
    • Mayonnaise: Feel free to use the brand of mayonnaise that you like. As this recipe combines yogurt and mayonnaise to make the egg salad lighter, I'd recommend sticking to regular mayo.
    • Dijon mustard: Dijon mustard beautifully adds to the taste of this egg salad, so be sure to use it!
    • More fresh herbs (optional): If you love fresh herbs as much as I do, consider using more herbs to make this dill pickle egg salad. Fresh parsley and chives are two favorites of mine when making egg salad!

How to make this dill pickle egg salad

Boil the eggs. First, add some water to a pot and bring it to a boil. Reduce to a gentle boil and add the eggs. Let them cook for 10-12 minutes, then remove and place them in a bowl filled with cold water.

    Tips & Notes

    • Let the eggs cool fully before you use them. They are easier to peel and chop up when they have cooled completely. To make things quicker, you could add some ice cubes to the cold water.
    • Add more herbs of your choice to the egg salad. I love salads that use plenty of fresh herbs for lots of delicious flavor! Some favorites of mine are fresh parsley and chives.
    • Make things spicy by adding red pepper flakes or a pinch of cayenne pepper. I definitely love spicy food, so sometimes I like to add red pepper flakes or some cayenne pepper to my salad dressings and sauces. Both taste really delicious in this dill pickle egg salad and are perfect for adding a hint of spice!

How to serve this dill pickle egg salad

    • Spread this dill pickle egg salad over a slice of sourdough bread for a quick and delicious meal. It's one of my favorite ways to enjoy this egg salad for either breakfast or lunch. I just toast a slice of rustic bread with some butter or olive oil in my air fryer (please don't judge, it works great! 😄) and then enjoy it with this egg salad. It's super delicious!
    • Make classic egg sandwiches or wraps. Another option for serving this dill pickle egg salad is making sandwiches or wraps. Feel free to add some lettuce and other vegetables of your choice when you make sandwiches and wraps!
    • Enjoy this egg salad as lettuce cups for a high-protein snack. If you want a very light meal or snack, you could serve this dill pickle egg salad as lettuce cups. It's super quick and easy to make!
